Head of Engineering
A company specializing in manufacturing & production is looking for a blade lead engineer.
Your new company
My client is a European company, which is leading position in wind turbine manufacturers. It’s history over 50 years. Entered the China market over 30 years and has three factories with headquarters in Shanghai. Work for long-term and economical power generation from wind energy in all geographical and climatic conditions. Flexible culture, rapid expansion stage.
Your new role
- Consolidate and strengthen all technical communication and coordination between HQ Engineering and China suppliers/partners, to minimize asymmetry of information exchange and to mitigate risks of technology and quality.
- Create and concrete a strong technical team with capabilities and resources not only to give comprehensive support for Homologation process, also to maximize and extract local suppliers & partners’ successful experiences to adapt to homologation optimization and upgrading.
- Continuously improve and build the quality and capabilities of the technical team to provide technical support for the Group‘s global cost reduction strategy and sustainable development.
- Scope the qualification of materials for testing and process application methods.
- Market analysis for new materials with better characteristics.
- Evaluating potential of new material and technology ideas to set direction for technology roadmaps.
- Collaborating with a diverse group of engineers in a global engineering organization.
- Specification of tests in collaboration with the design engineers, along with the subsequent analysis and reporting.
- Supporting with local and international testing companies.
- On-site follow-up for introduction of materials in production – inspect fulfillment of design requirements, define quality measures.
- On-site support for ramp-ups and clarification of technical questions
Your major responsibility
- M.Sc. in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science or similar. Having knowledge and experience with materials from wind power, automotive or aerospace industry is a prerequisite.
- Wind turbine knowledge/experience preferred.
- Project Management experience or technical team leadership preferred.
- Good technical understanding of Blade Design, Manufacturing and Field repair and upgrade methods.
- Strong knowledges and applications of diversified blade materials.
- Good problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, a high technical proficiency, and excellent proficiency in English are essential.
- Ability to direct multi-skilled professional teams.
- Engage in HSE management and be fully safety-focused.
- Comfortable in working within multi-cultural and multi-national team.
- Languages/Level / Idiomas/Nivel: Fluent English.
- Experience :12-15 years working experience and 8-10 years at R&D background.
- Availability to travel
