Our client is a player in packaging and printing industry with a few factories in China. With their business growing healthily year on year, they’re now looking for a Plant General Manager to look after the P&L for a site based in Guangdong province.
Responsible for managing various aspects of manufacturing operations, including manufacturing techniques, sourcing, cost reduction, quality, delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, factory modernization and plant performance.
Lead and manage direct reports including factory administration, production, manufacturing engineering, and purchasing, and establish quarterly KPIs for self and factory direct reports
Develop and monitor profit, budget, and financial plans;
Implement effective management and control systems for capital, operating expenditures, workforce (resource allocation utilization/allocation), wages, labour overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses, including maintenance of plant facilities, equipment, and moulds;
Develop production and manufacturing Plan, monitor, and analyse key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure that the factory stays on schedule and keeps commitments with production, NPI and quality; maintain facilities to meet the high standards and in optimal levels
Ensure compliance with international and local regulatory, safety, environmental, and labour standards
Build a high-performance culture with competent, flexible and committed workforce
Lead and motivate a team of managers to drive employee engagement and performance
Build and maintain working relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activities and strategic goals and to resolve any interdepartmental conflicts or problems promptly to drive improvements and foster positive working culture
Formulate, review and manage existing policies, guidelines and procedures to continue to develop a high-quality management team
