Job Description:
Our client is at the forefront of the financial industry and is currently seeking a seasoned professional to take on the pivotal role of China Head of Capital Markets. This executive will spearhead our capital markets operations in China, overseeing a team of 10 experts and engaging with a diverse range of capital market activities, including but not limited to Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), debt issuance, syndication loan initiation, and execution, as well as sales to Chinese institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive growth in capital markets, aligning with the broader vision of the Bank and the China CEO's directives.
- Team Management: Lead, inspire, and manage a team of 10 seasoned capital markets professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Business Development: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the capital markets sector, leveraging deep market insights and a robust network.
- Client Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key institutional clients and stakeholders, including China's exchange institutions and regulators.
- Transaction Execution: Oversee the end-to-end process of capital markets transactions, ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
- Market Analysis: Provide in-depth market analysis, keeping abreast of trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations are conducted in strict compliance with local and international regulations and industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize business opportunities and deliver integrated financial solutions.
- Performance Oversight: Set and monitor performance metrics for the team, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
- External Representation: Represent the Bank in high-level industry engagements, reinforcing the bank's reputation as a leader in capital markets.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in capital markets, with a strong background in securities or banking.
- Proven track record of leadership in managing capital markets operations, with demonstrable success in ABS, debt issuance, and syndication loans.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders.
- Strong relationships with China's exchange institutions, regulators, and other key institutions.
- Deep understanding of Chinese capital markets and the institutional landscape.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
